Relationships between Dispatchers and Professional Truck Drivers has always been a major concern in the Trucking Industry.  With the mandate of the Electronic Logging Device, these relationships got even worse. Until now the root cause of this breakdown has never been fully determined or successfully addressed. However,

The Root Cause Has Always Been Apparent!

Dispatchers have consistently assigned loads to drivers based on drive time although they have always been able to see the remaining hours of service that a truck driver has. The Professional Truck Driver has always been able to determine whether he had the hours of service to run a load or not but has always been put under pressure of either running the load or having to face adverse actions for not running the load. As an alternative, the Professional Truck Driver made due by cheating their logs to create the necessary hours needed to run the load, but with the inception of the ELD's, Truck Drivers can't do that anymore without the willingness to put their Commercial Drivers License in jeopardy.

The Problem with Assigning Loads Based On Drive Time:

Dispatchers have always known that to determine the estimated time of arrival between Point A and Point B, they need only to divide the distance by the speed in which the driver will travel. This works well to help Dispatchers to  understand how many drive hours is needed but it does nothing to help Dispatchers realize the total hours of service required.

The "Truckers Trip Planning App For Dispatchers" provides the Dispatcher  with the necessary tools they need to match and assign loads to Professional Drivers based on the awareness of the Truck Drivers remaining hours of service and the hours of service requirements of the load.

With The Truckers Trip Planning App For Dispatchers, the root cause of the breakdown in the relationships between Dispatchers and Professional Drivers can finally be resolved. Dispatchers, while not being required to have a full understanding of the Federal Hours of Service Rules, can quickly determine all of the hours of service required by a load while comparing the assigned driver's remaining hours of service to the load's hours of service requirement.
